NFMC Distric Festival Results
Planet e Studios proudly participated in the recent National Federation of Music Clubs’
District Festival, held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Palm Coast, February 17th.
Our esteemed music and performing arts school was represented by a group of 37
exceptionally talented students, who showcased their skills and dedication in the face of challenging circumstances. We are delighted to share that our students achieved impressive
results!
31 students received a Superior rating (which is the highest possible), 5 students received an Excellent rating (the second highest possible), and one student chose not to receive a rating but to participate for comments and the experience, which is a fantastic way to still challenge oneself and receive feedback, without the competitive aspect.
Looking ahead, we are now preparing for the upcoming State Festival at USF in Tampa, May 3rd and
4th! So far, 23 students in voice, piano and drums, are participating in this competitive event

Monthly Performance Opportunities
At Planet e Studios, our students have the valuable opportunity to showcase their talent by performing for the residents at Grand Villa of Palm Coast, on a monthly basis. This experience provides a platform for our students to enhance their performance skills in front of a live audience. The residents eagerly look forward to these performances and warmly embrace our students, expressing their delight and appreciation. The overwhelmingly positive feedback received from the residents further confirms the positive impact that our visits have on their overall well-being.
When we came to Grand Villa last December, our sing-along carols were such a hit, that we decided to add in a group sing-along at the end of our visits. In February, as a complete surprise to both the students and residents, after everyone performed, Emily announced we would all sing “My Girl” together. While preparing the track and lyrics, a resident threw his hand up in the air holding the lyrics to “My Girl!” Emily asked how he could possibly have the lyrics for their surprise song, and it turns out, these residents were so touched by our performances, that they’ve created their own choir, and they learned “My Girl” for their Valentine’s Day Show! They were so ecstatic at the coincidence and the newly added group sing-along feature, that when Emily called the students up to join and sing, some residents came up too! The entire audience sang as we all sang and danced. It was amazing. Our group sing-along for March is “Country Roads,” by John Denver.
In order to ensure regular visits, we have scheduled our performances for the third Sunday of every month. Here are the upcoming dates for your convenience:
March 17th, April 14th, and May 19th.

Teacher Spotlight
John Csorba
John Csorba- John has been with Planet e Studios for 3 years and 7 months! He teaches drums, music exploration, and beginner violin with us on Tuesdays. Mr. John teaches all ages and his versatility makes his lessons so fun and engaging. He is always helping out at the studio subbing lessons, and we are currently working on daytime group drum classes with Mr. John! We love seeing his students perform at recitals, Grand Villa visits, and festival events. Thank you, John!
Youth Rock Band Showcase
Our pilot Youth Rock Band semester is highly successful. The students are thoroughly enjoying themselves, and if you have had the chance to listen to their practice sessions on Tuesday and Thursday nights from the lobbies, you will undoubtedly agree that they are performing exceptionally well, including their instructor. We take great pride and excitement in the collaborative efforts of all the students, and we eagerly anticipate their showcase on 4/21/24, to be held here at Planet e Studios. This event will be open to the public, and we encourage anyone interested in future opportunities with YRB to attend. As we have limited space available, priority will be given to the families of our band members. We look forward to seeing all of you there.
Youth Rock Band Auditions
Spring Semester
The auditions for our Youth Rock Band will be held on April 28th, 2024. To participate in the band, you must audition and registration is now open on our website. If you are interested, we strongly encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure your audition time, as there are limited slots available.
Our program is structured into semesters, with each semester consisting of 12 sessions. At the end of each semester, there will be a showcase featuring our bands. The cost for each semester is $250, with a discounted rate of $240 for current students. The semester fee covers weekly sessions with your instructor and fellow band members, as well as the opportunity to learn and play various instruments including guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and more. Additionally, new students are required to pay a $15 registration fee.
Music Exploration Spots Available
6 mo-2 yr & 3-5 yr Programs
Join us at Planet e Studios for our Music Exploration classes, available on Wednesdays. We offer two different classes: one for children aged 6 months to 2 years at 10am, and another for children aged 3 to 5 years at 11am.
Our Music Exploration classes provide a range of engaging activities designed to foster a love for music in young children. These activities include finger-plays, speaking, singing, movement, dancing, and instrumental features. Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of musical instruments, both pitched and non-pitched, such as the piano, xylophones, tambourines, bells, shakers, drums, triangles, and wood sounders.
Through a combination of guided music activities and student-led learning, our classes aim to develop early music skills, as well as enhance memory and brain development, hand-eye coordination, ear training, recognition and listening skills, social skills, and confidence building.

Make-up Lessons
Make-up lessons are available on the 2nd Saturday of every month. If there is a conflict with the 2nd Saturday, we choose a different Saturday that month, but the dates are always posted in the studio on the “What’s Happening” board. Our next one will be 3/9/24. You can sign up with our Music Director anytime beforehand to reserve your time, if you have a lesson to make up.
Pokémon at Planet e Studios
Join us every Sunday from 3pm-5pm for our successful Pokémon Trading Card Game meetups. It’s a perfect platform for Pokémon TCG enthusiasts to connect, play, and build friendships. Whether you’re skilled or new, join us this weekend to enhance your skills and engage in thrilling battles.

Zumba After Hours
We are very excited to announce the newest class addition to Planet e Studios: Zumba! We’re starting off this endeavor with Zumba After Hours on Tuesdays, from 7:30pm-8:30pm, starting Tuesday, February 13th! Each class is $8 a head, with room for up to 12. Our Zumba teacher Brandi is part of the Planet e Studios community, and has been a part of the Zumba world for over a decade. Her energy, moves, and awesome playlists will keep you coming back each week.
