Young Musicians Competition

Florida Arts & Music Enrichment (FLAME)
Participation Confirmation due October 11th, 2025

Welcome to the Young Musicians Competition! Presented by FLAME (Florida Arts & Music Enrichment). This is a performance-based event for student musicians ages 6–18.

Designed to support growth and artistry at every stage, the competition features three age divisions—Young Musicians (6–9), Growing Musicians (10–13), and Maturing Musicians (14–18)—with four performance levels, ranging from Emerging to Refined.

Each participant performs two contrasting selections for a professional adjudicator and receives feedback through a comprehensive rubric highlighting Tone & Sound Quality, Accuracy, Technique, Musical Expression, and Stage Presence. Scores are also adjudicated, and those who receive a perfect score at the Initial Round may advance to the Final Round of the competition, at a later date.

More than a competition, this event gives students the opportunity to refine their skills, grow as performers, and gain meaningful guidance to continue their musical journey.

If you are interested in participating in this competition, let your teacher and our Music Director know ASAP so that you can begin selecting your pieces!

Dates to Remember:

  • FLAME Young Musicians Competition Agreement due October 11th
  • Song selections due November 8th
  • $30 Registration Fee due December 6th
  • Young Musicians Competition Tentative Date: Saturday, March 7, 2026

Winter Recitals 2025

Saturday, December 13th & 20th
Registration due Oct 18th

Meaganne and Marianne Doctora singing duet at Summer Recital.

It’s time to start thinking about Winter Recitals. Recitals are incredible opportunities for our students to set goals and achieve them, while expressing and sharing their love for music with one another and the community.

The number of students participating will determine how many shows we have, and the official showtimes. Each student performs in one show. Our current projection is two shows both Saturdays, at 12:30pm & 2:30pm. We will have this solidified by November 1st, as long as everyone registers by October 18th.

This will be our 16th recital showcase and we’re looking forward to hearing our students sing and play their hearts out, as usual!

Our recitals are free and open to the public.

For students participating in the Summer Recital, there is a $20 registration fee per student to cover costs. If a student wants to perform in multiple mediums (i.e. voice and piano, separately, or an additional duet), the registration fee is $40.

If you or your child(ren) would like to participate, please register by May 1st, by clicking below, AND let your teacher know so that you can begin choosing your performance piece!

Teacher Spotlight

Mariannah Aguilera

Mariannah started teaching with Planet e Studios this past summer and is easily becoming a popular member of our team. She mainly teaches piano with us, but her primary instrument is the French Horn, and she also dabbles in guitar, singing, and music theory. Mariannah comes to us from Cuba, where she lived a life fully engulfed in music. She graduated from Cuba’s National School of Music as an instrumentalist and ensemble practice teacher, and is also very active as a Worship Leader. We are so fortunate to have her talent, energy, and expertise with us. She’s available for lessons Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and is fantastic with all ages. Thank you for being a part of our team, Mariannah!

Make-up lessons are available on the 2nd Saturday of every month. If there is a conflict with the 2nd Saturday, we choose a different Saturday that month. For example, in November, due to our participating in the Fall Festival, our make-up lesson day will be the third Saturday, November 15th. The dates are always posted in the studio on the “What’s Happening” board. You can sign up with our Music Director anytime beforehand to reserve your time, if you have a lesson to make up.
