What’s Happening in February, 2026

Dear Planet e Studios Families,

Happy February! We’re already seeing so much beautiful progress in lessons and classes — those little breakthroughs that make every day here feel special. You’ve probably noticed your child coming home with a new song snippet or a bit more confidence in their rhythm. We’re so proud of every one of you.

Here’s a quick look at what’s happening this month and beyond. We have a mix of performances, classes, and gentle reminders to keep the music flowing smoothly.

Our First Act students are diving deep into the magic of musical theatre! This group creates such a supportive space where young performers build strong foundations in stage presence, diction, character work, and so much more.

As they move forward, students will be forming small groups and selecting a variety of scenes to rehearse and perform. These scenes will include monologues and dialogue and will span different genres. Through this process, students will gain experience working both independently and collaboratively, learning how to communicate, problem-solve, and support one another in both small and large group settings.

They are also learning new repertoire every two weeks! An important focus of their work is helping them learn how to choose material that best showcases their individual strengths and attributes, while also contributing to the success of the group as a whole.

First Act’s next performance will be Saturday, May 9th, at the Spring Arts Festival & Garden Show, Central Park Town Center. We’ll know their exact performance time closer to date.

Stay tuned because performance opportunities can pop up out of nowhere, and if given the chance, our First Act class will be there.

It’s wonderful watching them grow into versatile, passionate artists who light up any stage. If your child loves storytelling through music and movement, we’d love to have them join us!

Music Enrichment group class graphic featuring treble clef tree design.

Our Music Enrichment class continues to be a joyful highlight for our 6–10 year olds (and homeschool families!). With just a few spots left, Mr. John keeps the energy vibrant as students explore keyboards, ukuleles, drums, shakers, xylophones, and more.

Each week brings group jams, solo moments, and plenty of encouragement to build confidence and make new friends. It’s where young musicians truly flourish, one joyful rhythm at a time.

Step Up For Students families can enroll through the EMA Portal. Everyone else — just send us a quick message to reserve a spot before they’re gone!

Grand Villa Showcase

Sunday, February 15th, 2pm

Our next heartwarming visit to Grand Villa Senior Living is coming up fast! This is one of our favorite ways for students to share their music and brighten residents’ days.

The atmosphere is always warm and supportive — perfect for first-timers or seasoned performers. We’ve built such lovely connections with the residents; they truly look forward to our visits and the chats afterward.

This also counts for community service hours!

Spaces are limited, so reach out to your teacher or our Music Director soon to sign up. We showcase on the third Sunday most months (with occasional adjustments) — check the “What’s Happening” board for the full schedule.

Young Musicians Competition

Florida Arts and Music Enrichment (FLAME)
Initial Round: Saturday, March 7th at Planet e Studios

Our registered students — keep up that wonderful practicing! Time schedules and day of procedures for the Initial Round on March 7th have been emailed out. If you have not received correspondence, check your email for flaglerflame@gmail.com. If you still don’t have anything, tell us immediately.

Make sure to have the sheet music for your pieces so that the judge, Dr. Keith Teepen, from Flagler College, can follow along. If you are using studio books, we will have the books at the studio for use.

We’re cheering you on every step — these competitions are such great growth opportunities!

Word from Mr. Omar

Our dear Mr. Omar very unexpectedly had to relocate to Miami in January. He and his family are in good health, don’t worry, but he made a commitment in Miami and could not hold off having to relocate any longer.

To all of his students, he wanted you to know that he greatly enjoyed being your teacher and learned so much from each of you. Every one of you has a place in his heart and he is grateful to have been a part of your musical journey.

To all of the teachers at Planet e Studios, you were like a second family to him and he cherished your relationship. The Friday Morning Jam Club, the recitals, festivals, and Grand Villa visits together; he remembers everything and holds every memory close to his heart.

He will still be in touch and we will definitely keep him updated, and we may be lucky enough for a couple visits down the road.

Our Youth Rock Band program is all about creativity, collaboration, and finding your unique voice in rock music. Students explore a wide range of songs (including originals they compose), build technical skills on their instruments, and learn to listen, blend, and perform as a true band.

It’s an encouraging space where teamwork and confidence grow naturally. If your child is excited about rock and ready to jam with others, reach out for an audition spot or fill out the online audition form — we’d love to hear them!

Upcoming Showcases:

Robin Hood: The Musical

Summer Musical Theatre Camp
July 6th – July 31st

🎭🎵”Robin Hood: The Musical” takes center stage this summer at Planet e Studios! 🎵🎭

Led by the wonderful Miss Hannah Pierce, this 4-week camp invites students ages 7–17 to step into a world of song, story, and stage magic. We’ll explore the adventure through music, movement, and character work — building confidence, teamwork, and those joyful “aha” moments that make theatre so special.

Camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:30am–1:00pm, from July 6th through July 31st. The celebration? Two wonderful performances: an evening show on Friday, July 31st, and a daytime show on Saturday, August 1st.

Spots are limited to just 20 young performers, so they tend to fill up once registration opens. As a reminder, we’re a Direct Provider with Step Up For Students — this camp is available on the EMA Portal.

If your child is already with us and feeling that spark for musical theatre, let your teacher know you’re interested. For everyone else, watch for registration details coming this spring — we’d love to have them join the merry band!

Keep nurturing those little musical dreams at home. We’re so excited for the summer stories we’ll create together.
