Heather Klayman

Heather Klayman is an alumn of the University of Southern Mississippi, holding a bachelor’s degree in Choral/Voice Music Education. Starting on the violin at age 6, Heather grew up immersed in music as she also took voice lessons as an elementary child and piano lessons during her early teens. In high school, she was heavily involved in choir as an alto and marching/concert band as a percussionist. She was a sign participant in many of the choirs at USM including The Southern Chorale, Belletones and Spirit of Southern, and many of the graduate chamber choirs.

Throughout her upbringing she had the privilege of working under a variety of teaching styles, which also left her feeling a little lost and confused at times in her musical journey. Her mission as a teacher is to provide a space tailored to each of her individual students, focusing on their personal needs for growth. Her belief is to meet her students where they are at and connect with them on a deeper level to encourage them to connect with themselves, not only as musicians, but as humans. The human voice holds so much power, and we have the ability to use it in an infinite amount of ways.
