What’s Happening in January, 2026

Winter Recitals

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of our students, teachers, and community from our recent Winter Recital Series. This past December was our biggest recital turnout yet, with 100 students and 6 shows!

We are immensely proud of our talented students who put in the practice to perfect their performances. Your hard work and passion for music shone brightly on stage, and we are so grateful to have witnessed your growth and accomplishments. A special thank you to our committed teachers, who guide and support our students throughout their musical journeys. Your expertise and encouragement make all the difference. To our parents, we appreciate your unwavering support and involvement in your child’s musical development. And to Palm Coast Bible Church, thank you for providing us with a fantastic venue and technical assistance. We couldn’t have done it without you!

First Act: Musical Theatre

Our First Act: Musical Theatre class had their first official debut as a Planet e Studios group, bringing holiday cheer to audiences both at Town Center’s Fantasy Lights and the Grand Villa Senior Living Facility. Their performances were filled with festive spirit, as they sang, acted, and danced to “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Frosty, the Snowman,” and “Twelve Days to Christmas” from “She Loves Me”.

At Fantasy Lights, after showcasing their pieces, they led the rest of the Planet e Studios students and the crowd in Christmas Caroling. The sound of their voices filled the air around the beautiful Christmas Tree. It really did spread warmth and joy to a captivated audience, on a particularly chilly night. Everyone left with smiles on their faces.

The following week, they brought their holiday magic to the Grand Villa Senior Living Facility. Their performances were met with smiles and sing-alongs, as residents joined in the fun, with jingle bells in hand. It was a heartwarming experience for all, and a perfect way to wrap up the holiday festivities for 2025.

Our class has new friends joining this month, along with new projects and performances to come. Stay tuned!

Grand Villa Performance

Next: January 18th, 2pm at Grand Villa Senior Living

Sign up to perform January 18th, 2026, at our monthly Grand Villa showcase, at Grand Villa Senior Living Facility! This is a fantastic opportunity for students to share their musical talents and bring joy to the residents. The supportive atmosphere makes it a perfect setting for both experienced performers and those new to the stage.

Spaces are limited, so make sure to sign up early by contacting your teacher or our Music Director. Can’t make it this month? Don’t worry – we showcase at Grand Villa on the third Sunday of each month, with some exceptions throughout the year. Keep an eye on the “What’s Happening” board for the schedule.

Our students glow at these heartwarming visits. We’ve created beautiful relationships with the residents and they very much look forward to seeing us perform and to talk with us afterwards. Don’t miss out on the chance to connect with the community and spread the love of music!

Young Musicians Competition

Florida Arts and Music Enrichment (FLAME)
March 7th

Students registered for the Young Musicians Competition will receive an email by mid-January, notifying them if their pieces have been approved or if they need to be revised.

Voice students will need to submit the piano accompaniment tracks for review, to make sure the sound quality is acceptable. There will be communications sent for where to upload.

If a student is performing a piece that we do not have music for, the sheet music must be purchased.

The Initial Round will be held at Planet e Studios on March 7th. Official time schedules will be sent out at the beginning of February.

Happy practicing, young musicians!

Teacher Spotlight

Heather Klayman

Heather Klayman has been with Planet e Studios for 7 months now, teaching voice and piano. She is a Matanzas High School Alum and a USM Music Education Graduate. Heather’s calm demeanor is soothing for students and she has a way of making them feel relaxed, while still having fun in lessons. Her students are Grand Villa regulars and recital performers, and she is also preparing a handful of students for the Young Musicians Competition coming up March 7th.

A proud member of the “Friday Morning Jam Club” teacher band, Heather is a natural fit at Planet e Studios. With us Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, Heather’s schedule has already filled up quickly, but she still has room for more. Thank you for being a part of our family!

Our Music Enrichment class for 6-10 year olds is thriving! We have new friends joining us this month and just 3 spots left until we’re at max capacity.

This class is designed as an exploration of music, instruments, and personal growth. Each week, students get hands-on with a variety of instruments, including keyboards, ukuleles, drums, shakers, xylophones, and more—all while receiving individualized guidance to nurture their musical talents.

Mr. John provides a harmonious mix of group jams, solo opportunities, and a vibrant atmosphere that encourages confidence-building and friendship-making. It’s the class where young musicians flourish, one rhythm at a time.

Step Up For Students families can enroll easily through the EMA Portal, and everyone else can reserve a spot with a quick message or email.

Step Up for Students Recipients

Submit funds by the 1st of every month on EMA Portal

Planet e Studios has been a proud provider for Step Up For Students since 2018. We are blessed to be able to offer this to families, especially with the EMA Portal availability. As a Direct Provider, you can find us in the Marketplace Provider Search on your EMA Portal when you search our name. You don’t need to fill in any other categories, just type our name in the search bar, press enter, and we will appear. All of our lessons and classes are available on the portal.

Once you select the lessons or classes you are purchasing, you must check out your shopping cart. It will allow you to “reserve funds” because Planet e Studios does the final submission. The lessons and classes will show as “pending” until we submit them on our end. Once we edit any lesson price adjustments to reflect monthly discounts and such, we submit them and the funds are then deducted from the recipient’s account.

Please make sure to submit funds for the entire month, by the 1st of every month, on the EMA Portal!

Make-up Lessons Reminder

Make-up lessons are available on the 2nd Saturday of every month. If there is a conflict with the 2nd Saturday, we choose a different Saturday that month. For example, in February, due to Valentine’s Day, our make-up lesson day will be the third Saturday, Feb. 21st. The dates are always posted in the studio on the “What’s Happening” board. You can sign up anytime beforehand to reserve your time, if you have a lesson to make up.
